Maryland fire officials arrested and charged 21-year-old Wesley Jones on Monday after allegedly making an arson threat against his mother and their home. Jones had turned himself into authorities after learning the charges against him.
Investigators say the charges stem from a statement Jones made to his mother over text back in March. He said he was going to set fire to the home with the victim inside. Investigators determined the threats were motivated by multiple domestic issues between Jones and his mother.
Jones was charged with arson threat and telephone misuse: repeated calls. He was released on his recognizance and trial has been set for September 22.
