Hampstead man charged with drug offenses

A Hampstead, Md. man was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses Wednesday in Carroll County.

Eric Franklin Collins, 36, was arrested after Carroll County Sheriff's Office Repeat Offender Proactive Enforcement and Hampstead Police Department officers executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of North Main Street in Hampstead based on an ongoing investigation about the sale and distribution of narcotics. Police found weapons, marijuana, THC oil, and unknown prescription pills in the search.

A search warrant of Collins' vehicle was also obtained, and he was subsequently stopped and arrested. In the car, police found multiple baggies of cocaine and a firearm. 

Collins was charged with firearm drug trafficking, controlled dangerous substance distribution, paraphernalia, controlled dangerous substance possession with intent to distribute, controlled dangerous substance not marijuana, controlled dangerous substance marijuana 10 grams plus, handgun in vehicle, and controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute narcotics.
