1 person dead in police-involved shooting; 2nd person shot was suspected "Aviator" bank robber

One person is dead following a police-involved shooting on Falls Road in Greenspring, Baltimore County Police said. 

A second suspect was also shot, police said, and has non- life threatening injuries. 

Police said the suspect in custody is the bank robber known as the Aviator, who is sought by the FBI in connection with multiple bank robberies.

Police said the shooting happened after a robbery at Wells Fargo Bank in the 1500 block of Reisterstown Road. The robbery occurred at around 1 p.m. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers shut down traffic in the area of Old Court and Falls roads in an attempt to block their escape.

Officers were on foot on Old Court Road when a Ford Taurus pulled out of the line of stopped traffic, crossed the center line and drove toward one of the officers, according to police. The officer then fired into the front windshield of the car, striking the driver. The driver later died from his injuries.
