An Essex man charged Friday with the murder of his girlfriend inside the home they shared has also been charged with murder in Baltimore City, police say.

Terrence L. Jenkins, 49, of the unit block of Skipjack Court, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Shelly Fillion.

The 48-year-old woman's body was found inside the Skipjack Court home Monday.

Baltimore County police said Jenkins was Fillion's boyfriend. Harry Fillion, Shelly's ex-husband who remained her friend, told ABC2 that Shelly shared with him recently that she wanted her boyfriend to move out.

Police say Jenkins is also a suspect in the murder of a woman in the 3600 block of Pulaski Highway in Baltimore last night.

Investigators quickly identified Jenkins as a suspect in Fillion's murder and Thursday afternoon, learned he'd made a call from an address in the 3600 block of Pulaski Highway, police said.

Detectives launched a surveillance operation around that house and saw a man thought might be Jenkins go inside.

While he was inside, detectives found Fillion's Ford Explorer parked nearby. Jenkins came out of the house about 30 minutes later, and when officers approached him, he ran, according to police.

Police chased Jenkins across Pulaski Highway where they took him into custody.

Detectives then went into the house Jenkins just left and found the body of a woman inside.

It wasn't immediately clear what Jenkins had with the woman. Baltimore City police are investigating her death as a homicide. Both investigations are ongoing.
