Police investigate 2 weekend shootings in Baltimore County

Baltimore County Police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred over the weekend. Just before 8 p.m. Saturday, officers were called for a shooting in the 1300 block of Sugarwood Circle in Essex where they located a victim nearby in the 900 block of Holgate Drive.

The man, later identified as 21-year-old Quantez Corbin, was taken to an area hospital and believed to have only minor injuries.

Police believe the shooting may have followed a disagreement that occurred earlier in the evening.

At 8:42 p.m. on Saturday, officers were called to the area of St. Regis and Marquette Rd in southeast Baltimore County where they located a victim with a gunshot wound to the neck. Police believe that the victim was accidently struck in a crossfire between two groups near a basketball court in the area.

The victim’s current condition is not known.
