An officer who shot a robbery suspect who was in a car that drove at police will not be charged in the shooting, Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger's office said Wednesday.

Officer First Class McCain responded to a robbery of a Walgreens in the 9600 block of Harford Road in Parkville. While responding to the call, McCain saw the car, a Chevrolet Tahoe, linked to the crime. Following a roughly 10 minute chase, McCain shot at the truck "in fear for his life," as the Tahoe drove at where he was positioned on Pulaski Highway, Baltimore County Public Information Officer Shawn Vinson said at a press conference where media could view the body camera footage in early July.

The driver of the vehicle was not struck, but the passenger was shot in the arm.

After reviewing the relevant facts in the case and the body worn camera footage, the Grand Jury decided not to charge McCain.
