Baltimore County Police have released a mug shot of the man arrested last week for clinging on to the front of a school bus after he says a bottle was thrown from a student on the bus and hit his car.
Police arrested 68-year-old Leverne Doran of Nottingham, Md. at the scene without incident.
He was charged with Disturbing the Peace/Hindering Passage, Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing a School Bus Driver, and Destruction of Property. He was later released from custody.
Cellphone video that later went viral captured the man clinging onto a moving school bus ordering the driver to open the door.
Doran told police that his vehicle was next to the bus at the intersection when a bottle was thrown from the bus and struck his car. He demanded entry onto the bus but the driver, fearing for the students’ safety, drove slowly towards the nearest police station. Doran then went to the front of the bus and jumped onto the front hood while the bus was moving forward.
When the driver stopped for a traffic light, Doran got down and tried to enter the bus again, breaking off one of the door handles.
It was an off-duty officer who witnessed the incident and intervened.
