Baltimore County Police are searching for a vehicle that struck a 13-year-old girl then fled Thursday afternoon in Dundalk.
Police were called to Holabird Avenue close to Searles Road in Dundalk shortly after 4 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle.
When paramedics and officers arrived, they found the victim who was injured after crossing the street when she was struck by a red Mercedes Benz.
Police say witnesses at the scene tried to prevent the driver from leaving the scene. Witnesses say the car was displaying Maryland War of 1812 registration plates.
The driver of the vehicle was described as a white male with a white female passenger.
The victim was transported to the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Trauma Center with minor injuries and is expected to survive, police said.
