A 50-year-old Essex man was arrested and charged after he assaulted a cab driver for not driving him. Baltimore County Police say Michael John Pillsbury of the 100 block of Eastern Ave went to the home of a cab driver he frequently hired to ask for a ride in the 300 block of Homberg Ave. When the victim refused, Pillsbury threatened to burn down the driver’s home. The two men argued until Pillsbury pulled out a knife and slashed the man across his chest. A man witnessing the event tried to intervene to help the victim but during the struggle, was cut by Pillsbury in his lower body.

Pillsbury was arrested and both victims were taken to area hospitals for minor injuries.

Police have charged Pillsbury with threatening an arson, attempted second degree murder, two counts of first degree assault, and two counts of second degree assault. He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Department of Corrections on denied bail status.
