ESSEX, Md. — Baltimore County Police made an arrest in connection to the overnight triple shooting that happened in Essex on July 27.
Police say they arrested 24-year-old Corey Danielle Powell and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder for the incident.
The shooting happened at around 12:25 a.m. in the 1000 block of Foxcroft Lane when officers arrived to find one man dead in front of a home and another in critical condition. The man that was in critical condition was taken to Franklin Square Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by medics. The third victim suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Police learned that the shooting death of the two victims, 26-year-old Cameron Stenhouse and 34-year-old Dennis Vasquez, was a result of a drug deal gone wrong.
Powell was arrested Tuesday evening and is held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center following a bail review hearing.
