2nd liquor store robbery suspect charged

A second suspect accused of taking part in a liquor store robbery in Towson has been charged.
 
Hayes Sample, Jr. faces a number of charges including armed robbery and first-degree assault. His bail was set at more than $3 million. 
 
According to police, Hayes and Claude Mayo tried to rob the Towson Wine and Spirits store at gunpoint on Dec. 7.
 
 
The store clerk pulled out a gun, legally registered to him, and shot at Hayes and Mayo. 
 
Mayo was hit several times and collapsed outside the store. He died of his injuries on the scene.
 
 
Police have not filed charges against the store clerk.
