A 30-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder for killing the father of her son inside Johns Hopkins Hospital Friday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m. Friday, staff at the hospital heard Anita Nicole Jones and Christopher Yancey Sr. arguing inside a room. The pair were waiting for a procedure to completed on their son.

Jones left the room and told staff members that Yancey Sr. cut himself. Staff members entered the room and found Yancey Sr. with several cuts to his upper body. Despite efforts to save him, he died a short time later.

Meanwhile, Jones left the hospital before police arrived.

During their investigation, detectives learned Jones and Yancey Sr. were in the room alone and no weapons were found at the scene. They were also told the wounds to Yancey Sr. were not consistent with an apparent suicide.

Officers found and arrested Jones on a first degree murder charge Saturday and took her to Central Booking.
