Update on 13-year-old's death

City police arrested a suspect connected to the death of 13-year-old Diandre Barnes Saturday night.

Officers were patrolling Fremont Avenue, in response to the Barnes' shooting on Pennsylvania Avenue. 

At approximately 11:33 p.m. police encountered a suspect armed with two guns. He fired at officers and the officers returned fire during a foot pursuit. 

The suspect fled to the roof of a Fremont Avenue building, where he later surrendered. 

The suspect faces charges related to the Fremont Avenue incident while the Diandre Barnes investigation is ongoing.
