Two shot, one dead following two overnight Baltimore shootings

BALTIMORE — Baltimore police are now investigating two overnight shootings: one left a woman hospitalized and the other left a man dead.

The first incident happened late Memorial Day, at around 11 p.m., in Northwest Baltimore. Officers were called to the 3600 block of Spaulding Avenue, in the rear, for a report of a shooting.

Once on location, officers located a 22-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Northwest District detectives are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2466.

The second incident happened on early Tuesday morning, at around 1:30 a.m., when police were called to the 2200 block of Presbury Street to investigate a reported shooting.

Responding officers found David Blake Jr., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment and pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Homicide detectives took control of the investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2100.
