Police say around 11:05 p.m. Friday they were called to the 400 block of North Kenwood Avenue for a shooting.
When they arrived they found a 30-year-old man shot in the back.
The victim was transported to a hospital, and is expected to survive his injures.
Investigators learned the victim was walking in the area when an unknown suspect approached him and shot him from behind.
Early Saturday morning around 7:15 a.m. a man walked into the University of Maryland Emergency Room suffering from a gun wound to the calf.
Police do not know where the victim was shot or who shot the victim.
