One man is dead and two others are injured after they were shot in front of a Baltimore business on Monday.

TJ Smith, an official with the Baltimore Police, said officers heard the shooting from the police station in Northwest Baltimore around 11:00 in the afternoon. After they heard the shots they ran to the 5400 block of Fairlawn Ave and saw what they believe was two men running away.

Police lost the suspects after a short chase.

Smith said of the people shot, two are men and one was a woman. One of the men are dead, and the other two are being treated at an area hospital.

He also said police do not believe the victims were innocent bystanders, and that they were targeted by the shooters, but they do not know why.

Police are continuing to search the area and interview witnesses for information on the suspects.
