Jury selection began today in just the second trial scheduled to come out of the Gun Trace Task Force scandal.

Former Philadelphia Police Officer Eric Snell is scheduled to hear opening statements tomorrow.

Snell is accused of selling the drugs stolen by the GTTF here in Baltimore on the streets of Philadelphia.

Both now convicted and former BPD Detectives Jemell Rayam and Momodo Gondo are expected to take the stand against Snell.

Rayam and Snell first met in the Baltimore police academy in 2005 before Snell ended up on the force in Philadelphia in 2008.

Today, through a late legal motion, prosecutors released a bevy of text messages between Snell and others that help make the government's case.

In the court document are text messages between Snell, his brother who is an unindicted co-conspirator and more familiar names of Jemell Rayam, Wayne Jenkins and Momodo Gondo.

Also listed in the text messages in another Baltimore Police Officer Ayesha Hood.

BPD said Hood resigned just this past August and is no longer with the department.
