Officers were first alerted of the incident on the 3300 block of Cardenas by the city's ShotSpotter system.  At the scene, officers searched the area and found the 20-year-old man shot in his arm in the 2700 block of Mayfield.

Police say the man was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Investigators discovered that the man was sitting in his 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee when three masked men approached him with handguns and announced a robbery.

The three men stole the man's items and ordered him out of his car. They then shot him in the arm before fleeing the scene in his Jeep.
