Shots heard, police find man shot in the street

A shooting in Southwest Baltimore has left a man dead.

Police responded to the 2600 block of West Fairmount Avenue for a reported shooting around 8:15 p.m. Friday.

When units arrived on scene, they found a man lying in the street suffering from gunshot wound to the upper left chest.

 The victim was transported to Shock Trauma where he later died.

Neighborhood residents told police they reported hearing at least three gunshots.
