An officer and school hall monitor from the Achievement Academy in Baltimore were transported to the hospital after a student threw bleach during a school fight.

According to Baltimore City Public Schools, the officer was trying to break up the school fight when the student threw bleach in the officer's eyes. They say the bleach also splattered in the eyes of a hall monitor and on the clothes of a student.

Officials say medics arrived on the scene to treat the officer and hall monitor. They were later transported to the hospital for treatment.

Baltimore City School Police took the 18-year-old student responsible for throwing the bleach into custody. They say the student has been charged as an adult with three counts of First Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.

The officer and school hall monitor were released from the hospital and are expected to recover.
