Baltimore police are searching for three suspects wanted in connection to a homicide inside an East Baltimore barbershop Tuesday.
According to police, a 26-year-old man was shot in the torso around 3 p.m. in the 2100 block of McElderry Street at the "A Cut Above All" barbershop. A police spokesman said the victim had no chance to defend himself as he sat in a chair waiting for a haircut when the men entered the barbershop.
"They went in with a purpose, and that was to shoot and kill this individual," said Chief TJ Smith, a police spokesman.
Medics transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
Police released video Tuesday evening of the men entering the business with their faces covered.
"What makes this even more heinous is that after reviewing some of the video footage of this situation taking place is one of the guys even came back in after the victim was already on the ground and fired more shots at the victim," Smith said.
According to police, three suspects shot the victim before fleeing the location in a red 4-door Nissan.
The homicide is the eighth in the first ten days of 2017.
Detectives are asking anyone with information related to the case to call 410-396-2100 or text a tip to 443-902-4824.
