Police issue warrant in weekend bus shooting

Posted

Baltimore Police Detectives have issued a warrant for a woman they say shot a man on a crowded bus.

Police say the shooting happened as the number 27 bus made its way past M&T Bank Stadium toward the Horseshoe Casino just before 11 o’clock Saturday night.

A 21 year old man and a woman got in to a brief argument before she took out a gun and shot him.

"Right after shooting the victim, she jumped off the bus and escaped," Detective Donnie Moses said. "At this point a warrant had been issued,"

Police know exactly who to issue their warrant for.

A bus full of witnesses aside, the MTA has a fairly extensive security camera system on all its buses.

Detectives were able to watch the crime from literally several angles.

"All we had to do is basically identify the face that was captured from every angle," Moses said. "Over the past years things have gone on, on the buses and they felt the need to install this camera system on the buses and they are quite elaborate from what we can tell. Well, she made it easy for us."

Now, it is just a matter of finding the woman who police say recklessly and maliciously fired a weapon in a crowded bus.

The victim in this case is expected to survive his injuries.
