Police investigate several weekend shootings, homicides in the city

Baltimore police are investigating several shootings, some fatal, that occurred over the weekend.

Saturday evening just before 9 p.m., officers were called downtown to the intersection of Druid Hill Ave and Dolphin St; upon arriving, they found a man shot in the back.

He was taken to an area hospital. Police believe he was shot in the 500 block of W. Hoffman Street by an unknown suspect.

Early Sunday morning at 1:15am, police were called to the 1800 block of W. North Ave for another shooting; upon arriving, they located 24-year-old Jermaine Scofield suffering from gunshot wounds to the back. He was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Shortly after 6am on Sunday, police were called again to the western part of the city to the 900 block of N Calhoun St for a shooting. Two victims were found; a man shot in the stomach and a second man with several gunshot wounds. The first victim to currently being treated for his injuries; the second victim died from his injuries.

A short time later, police were called at 6:30am to the 600 block of E Patapsco Ave in south Baltimore for a shooting. A male victim was found shot in the upper body; he was declared deceased at the scene.
