Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that took place in the Southern District of Baltimore.

On Friday, at around 6:30 p.m., police were called to the intersection of 3rd Street and East Patapsco Avenue for a report of a stabbing. When the officers arrived they found a 26 year old man suffering from stab wounds to the torso.

A medic was called and the victim was transported to an area hospital. However, due to the severity of his injuries and despite medical intervention, the victim ended up dying at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Detectives learned that the victim was stabbed during an apparent robbery and that the suspect fled on foot after the said robbery. However, detectives were able to obtain video surveillance footage of the person of interest.
