Person of interest arrested in Dollar General murder

Police have a person of interest in custody in the murder of a Dollar General employee.

Deric Ford, Sr., 54, was working as a manager at the Dollar General in Edmondson Shopping Center Tuesday night when two men entered the store and demanded money.

Ford was complying with the suspects' demands, yet the father of 12 was shot and killed anyway.

"Senseless, senseless killing, very brutal execution-style," Police Commissioner Kevin David He did not resist the robbery and he was executed anyway.

Davis thanked the community for providing tips to police, but said they still need the public's help in collecting information.
