One dead, one injured in Southwest Baltimore shootings Thursday

BALTIMORE — One man is dead and another is injured after two separate shootings happened on Thursday within 20 minutes of one another.

The first shooting took place just before 6 p.m. where officers found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen in the area of 600 Stamford Road.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Just before 6:20 p.m., officers heard gunfire in Southwest Baltimore and began canvassing the area.

They then located 27-year-old Jermaine Stroud, Jr. laying in the area of 400 South Pulaski Street suffering from gunshot wounds. A medic was called to the scene, but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
