One dead following shooting on Wednesday, man injured from bullet wound to the leg on the west side

BALTIMORE — One person is dead after being shot multiple times in West Baltimore on Wednesday.

At around 3:47 p.m., police arrived to the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue for a shooting and upon arrival found the crime scene, but no victims.

While investigating, they were notified of a walk-in shooting victim nearby. Officers located the person at a local hospital.

The victim, later identified as Dashawn Chambers was pronounced dead.

On Wednesday night, at 9:15 p.m. officers responded to to the 4000 block of Frederick Avenue after receiving calls about a shooting.

When they arrived, police found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
