Police arrest man in wife's death

A 48-year-old Baltimore man is suspected of killing his wife, police said.

Around 2:40 Sunday afternoon police responded to the 1700 block of Appleton Street for a well-being check. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive woman with head trauma.  Police identified the woman as Tiffany Ruffin, 41, of Baltimore. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives identified the victim’s husband, Charles Ruffin, as a suspect in her death. He was arrested in another jurisdiction and is awaiting extradition.

Ruffin is listed on the Maryland Sex Offender Registry with 1998 convictions for first degree rape and child abuse .
