A man was injured in a shooting at Putty Hill Plaza Monday night, Baltimore County Police said.

Officers are investigating a shooting that occurred at about 10:30 p.m. in the shopping center parking lot in the 7900 block of Belair Road. Police did not find the victim at the scene but later located him at a local hospital, where he had driven to seek treatment.

Police said the man drove into the lot to make a phone call. While sitting in his car, he saw a suspect armed with a handgun approach. The man drove off, but the suspect fired, striking the man.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to his “upper extremity,” police said. His injuries were considered nonfatal.

Police are continuing to investigate, but they do not have a description of the suspect currently. Anyone with information should contact 410-307-2020.
