A man is sentenced to 18 months in prison after a September traffic stop led police to find gun and drugs in the vehicle he was driving.

The Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office says John Hann is going to jail for two handgun charges, two controlled substance possession charges, and a traffic violation.

Officials say the incident that led to his conviction was a September 4th traffic stop.

Police were conducting a traffic initiative in Southwest Baltimore's Morrell Park Community and noticed a vehicle neglecting to make a stop at a stop sign. They say Hann was in the vehicle with three other individuals when police were suspicious of a marijuana smell. They did a search of the vehicle and noticed marijuana and a loaded handgun in the vehicle.

The court sentenced Hann to 18 months and denied an appeal of a bond.
