Man found guilty for involvement in fatal parking lot argument

BALTIMORE — On Friday, a man was found guilty for his involvement in a fatal parking lot dispute.

Karl Peck was sentenced to the maximum penalty of 10 years for voluntary manslaughter and 20 years suspending all but 7 years with 5 years of probation for use of a handgun in commission of a crime of violence to run consecutive.

In November 2018, at around 1:42 p.m., an officer who was on routine patrol was flagged down by a citizen who informed him that a person had been shot near the Hilltop Shopping Center.

In the parking lot, officers found a black vehicle with the victim, later identified as Walter Paige was found suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 2 p.m.

According to eyewitnesses, a man exited the driver seat of a Hyundai Elantra and got into a verbal altercation with the victim. Another man ran towards the two of them and began to assault Paige. He was subsequently shot.
