A Baltimore man's participation in three days of violence has him facing 65 years in prison in one trial, and an additional trial for homicide.

Devante Brim was convicted of first degree assault, third degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third degree burglary, and using a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence.

On Nov. 4, 2015, police responded to the 2900 block of Ulman Avenue for a reported shooting, where they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Police determined the original crime scene occurred in the 2800 block of Hilldale Avenue, near Brim's home.

On Nov. 12, 2015, police responded to the 3000 block of Dupont Avenue for a home invasion. The victim said that Brim and an associate broke into her sister's apartment and demanded to know where her brother was, pointing a gun at her head in the process.

“This conviction is very important, as it brings to an end this defendant’s propensity for violence,” said State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby. “No longer will he be able to wreak havoc on the communities we all are working so hard to make safer and improve the quality of life. We are committed to prosecuting violent criminals and removing them from our streets, and I pray that the victims and communities impacted by this unrestrained violence can recover from these crimes following this conviction.”

Brim also faces a pending trial for a homicide in the 3500 block of Park Heights Avenue on Nov. 9, 2015. That trial is scheduled for Oct. 10, 2018.
