Maryland's House Appropriation's Committee will hold a special hearing to learn what was discovered about the University of Maryland's football culture and the decision reached by the University System of Maryland Regents to retain head football coach DJ Durkin and Athletic Director Damon Evans.

University of Maryland, College Park President Wallace Loh announced he would retire at a press conference Tuesday. It is speculated his decision to leave was influenced by the board's decision to maintain Durkin, a point of contention he allegedly held with the board.

The House of Delegate's committee will convene on Nov. 15 at 1 p.m.

“The tragic death of Jordan McNair and the unprecedented and unusual decision making process of the University System of Maryland Regents continues to raise more questions than answers.” Maryland House Speaker Michael E. Busch said “The House of Delegates needs clear answers as to how and why Dr. Wallace Loh is being held accountable while the Head Coach and Athletic Director have been retained by the Regents directly.”
