A Highlandtown man was sentenced to 45 years in prison for raping a 13-year-old girl and getting her pregnant.
Wilfredo Abrego was found guilty earlier this year of rape, sexual abuse of a minor, and third degree sex offense.
According to court records, in 2015 police were called to a home in the 3700 block of Eastern Avenue for a reported rape. The mother of a 13-year-old girl told officers her daughter was five weeks pregnant and the father was Abrego, who was renting a room in the home.
Authorities arrested Abrego who was linked to the crime by DNA evidence.
