A former Catonsville man was sentenced Friday to 70 months in prison, followed by 25 years of supervised release, for distributing child pornography.

Michael P. Strange, 56, now lives in Greenville, South Carolina and has been ordered by the judge to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

According to Strange’s plea agreement, a Maryland State Police investigator  discovered files containing child pornography that Strange had made available for download on the internet.

On April 27, 2015, the investigator downloaded three video files that depicted children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Law enforcement obtained a search warrant and seized two laptops from Strange’s home in Catonsville on June 12, 2015. One laptop had over 150 videos of child pornography, while the other contained search terms that indicated child pornography.
