Baltimore City Councilman Eric Costello says South Baltimore residents will see an increased police presence starting Tuesday night.

The surge of officers is a response to a recent crime wave in the last two weeks that includes multiple armed robberies, stolen cars and a carjacking.

Costello says officers will patrol the area on foot during the evening hours until the robberies stop and the suspects are caught.
