Corrections officer shot while driving work van in Baltimore

Baltimore Police are investigating an incident where a corrections officer was shot while driving a work van in the city. 

Officers responded to the 400 block of 29th Division Street Friday night after reports of a shooting. When they got to the scene they found a 52-year-old corrections officer shot in the shoulder. 

Preliminary investigations show the woman was driving a Department of Corrections van when she heard a gunshot. She then told officers she felt a burning sensation in her left shoulder and realized she had been shot. 

The woman said she did not see who fired the shot.
