Celebratory gunfire in Berea leads to man's arrested

BALTIMORE — A 44-year-old man allegedly indulging in celebratory gunfire in Berea was arrested shortly after midnight as 2019 began, Baltimore Police said.

Eastern District Action Team officers in the 1200 block of N. Luzerne Avenue came upon a man shooting a gun into the air while outside shortly after midnight on Jan. 1.

Officers stopped and arrested the man, later identified as Gary Watts, whose residence is on the same block where he was apprehended.

Police seized a loaded .44 Mag revolver, a loaded 9 mm handgun with an obliterated serial number, and a loaded assault rifle from Watts following the arrest.

Watts was taken to Central Booking where he was charged with various firearms violations.
