BALTIMORE — Police are asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle they say is responsible for a deadly hit and run on January 3.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. in the 2300 block of W. Baltimore Street.
On Thursday, Baltimore City Police released surveillance footage from the incident in hopes of identifying the vehicle involved.
In the video a black Nissan, either a Maxima or Altima is seen traveling on South Calverton Road. As the vehicle approaches a stop sign at the intersection of W. Baltimore Street, it turns right and strikes 60-year-old Anthony Zakroski.
After briefly stopping, the Nissan speeds away eastbound on W. Baltimore Street.
Zkroski died two weeks later at University of Maryland Shock Trauma.
Police say a group of on-lookers in the video appear to be recording the incident with their camera phones and are urging anyone with information to call them at 410-396-2606 or to leave a tip with Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
The vehicle is believed to have a sunroof, tinted windows, and fog lights.
