Baltimore has surpassed 300 homicides for the second year in a row.

The city's 300th and 301st murders were tallied Tuesday night, when two people were fatally shot in the 3900 block of Groveland Avenue around 5:30 p.m.

While the murder rate is still well short of last year's 344 homicides, it's well above the 211 reported in Baltimore in 2014.
