A Baltimore Police Officer has been criminally charged.
On Tuesday, the Baltimore City States Attorney's Office charged Officer Carlos Rivera-Martinez with first degree assault and misconduct in office.
According to online court records, the alleged offense occurred just shy of two years ago.
Baltimore Police officials say the officer has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the case.
