Baltimore Police were involved in a shooting in the city Wednesday.
The shooting happened in the 3400 block of Piedmont Avenue.
Police spokesman T.J. Smith said officers were in the area when they saw an SUV with people inside acting suspiciously.
When the officers got out of their vehicle to go toward the suspect vehicle, the driver allegedly put the SUV in reverse, tearing off a door to the police vehicle and hitting an officer in the leg in the process, Smith said.

Two officers then fired at the SUV, hitting the driver in the neck. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
The injured officer was being treated at an area hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Inside the SUV were two other people along with drugs and a handgun, Smith said. Charges are pending at this point.
