One man is facing drug charges after police found about 17 pounds of marijuana inside a crashed car.

Baltimore Police said the man caught an Uber to try to leave the area.

On Monday police were called to the scene of a car crash in the 4000 block of El Dorado Avenue. Once there, an officer found an empty silver Mercury that had crashed into a light pole. Witnesses told the officer that the driver got out of the car and ran away, according to police.

Inside the crashed Mercury, police found 17 freezer bags filled with suspected marijuana. The bags weighed about a pound each.

Police found and arrested the suspected driver, 32-year-old Brandon McDaniel, a short time later trying to leave the area in an Uber.
