Baltimore City officer sideswiped during chase, has minor injuries

A Baltimore City Police Officer is injured after getting sideswiped by a suspect's car Monday night. 

Police say they were searching for, or tracking, a car around just before 11:00 at night. 

While trying to stop the car, the officer was sideswiped by the suspect in the 2700 block of W. North Avenue. The car kept driving after hitting the officer.  

Backup was called to the scene and was able to stop the suspect in the 2300 block of Westwood Avenue. 

The officer was taken to Shock Trauma for a bruised left leg. The suspect was was also injured and taken to the hospital for abdominal pain. 

Charges are still pending as of Tuesday morning.
