Shooting, attempted robbery caught on video, suspect charged

A man faces attempted murder and other charges for shooting a man during a robbery attempt early Friday morning. 

At around 12:50 a.m., a City Watch operator reported that he saw a man armed with a handgun in the unit block of Custom House Avenue.

According to police, he tried to rob the victim and shot at him, but missed. The victim was not injured. 

Officers located a black and silver .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun, loaded with one round in the chamber and 13 in the magazine in the 400 block of Water Street underneath a parked vehicle. 

The suspect was identified as Nelson Lamar Pryor, 24, of no fixed address. He was arrested at the corner of Baltimore and Gay Streets. 

He has been charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder, firearms violations, armed robbery, robbery and first- and second-degree assault.
