Police are investigating a shooting after they say an ambulance was hit by a bullet.

It happened around 10 a.m. Wednesday in Northwest Baltimore. Medics were treating a patient in the 4500 block of Wynham Road at Wakefield Road when the ambulance was hit. No one was hurt but the window of the ambulance shattered.

We're now hearing the call between the ambulance crew and police dispatch minutes after the shooting:

Dispatch: "Ambo 28 are you able to get ouf ot harm's way?

Ambulance: "That is affirmative. We are right now. About 300 feet behind us there is a subject with a rifle and two others shooting. Saw one vehicle leave which I believe was the gunman. I'm not sure about the other."

Police do not think the ambulance was targeted.
