4 killed, 2 injured in five shootings Tuesday

Four people were killed and two injured, one critically, in five shootings Tuesday.

At approximately 7:02 p.m. officers responded to a shooting in the 200 block of N Payson Street. Upon arrival, they located a 27-year-old male who was shot in the head. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is in critical condition.

Around the same time in the eastern district, officers located victims of a double shooting in the 2700 block of Ashland Avenue. A 25-year-old male was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead. A 48-year-old male was shot with a stray bullet in the right ankle. He was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries. 

A few hours later officers located a shooting victim in the 3200 block of East Baltimore Street. The victim, Asia Brockington, 26, was shot in the back. The she was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. southwest district officers responded to the 500 block of Loudon Avenue. After canvassing the area, they located a 38-year-old victim. Damon Gingles suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso. Medics pronounced him dead on the scene.

Just before midnight Tuesday, officers responded to a shooting in the 4700 block of Liberty Heights Avenue. Carlos Younger, 24, suffered from multiple gunshot wounds to the back. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
