The department said the man, David Ott, was found unresponsive in his cell at about 11 p.m. on Nov. 7 Paramedics arrived and attempted to revive him, but Ott was pronounced dead at 11:35 p.m.

Police took Ott to the booking center but then brought him to the hospital after he complained about a medical condition, the statement from the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services said. Ott was then brought back to Central Booking after gaining medical clearance.
