300th homicide victim killed in NW Baltimore, second victim's death marks 301

Baltimore City's 300th homicide victim was killed in a shooting Tuesday in Northwest Baltimore.

The incident occurred in the 3900 block of Groveland Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Two victims, a 42-year-old man and a 48-year-old man, were shot and taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The first victim died of his injuries at the hospital.

The second victim later died of his injuries, bringing Baltimore's homicide total to 301 for 2016.

Last year, the city recorded 343 homicides. In 2014, that number was just 211.
