24 year old killed Thursday morning in Southwest Baltimore

BALTIMORE — A 24-year-old man was killed in the Northwest Community Action neighborhood in Southwest Baltimore Thursday morning.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of St. Stephens Street at 9:25 a.m. for a reported shooting. There police found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police later identified him as James Smith.
